Do you care enough to care?

A council campaign to find “the right people” to work as carers in homes like Greenhive was launched in conjunction with National Care Home Day on Friday.

Cllr Dora Dixon Fyle, cabinet member for adults, arts and culture, said: “Quality of care is a national issue but in Southwark we are tackling it head on by working with care home providers to fundamentally change the way they recruit staff. I know we already have some excellent, hard working carers employed in Southwark but we need more.”
Residents at Rose Court care home in Lower Road Rotherhithe were filmed talking about their experiences of living to help change people’s perceptions and show prospective employees that life in residential care can be positive and rewarding.
