Corporate Information Governance Officer
Information governance touches every aspect of the council’s work and we are looking for an exceptional officer to be an expert on the front line at Southwark Council.
The corporate information governance team supports departments to use the data they hold to drive improvements in services, within the requirements of the law.
Key responsibilities of the Corporate Information Governance Officer include:
- Managing information requests (for the finance and governance department) and offering corporate advice;
- Data breach handling, logging and reporting;
- Training delivery; and
- Assisting the Information Governance Manager in their role.
As the finance and governance department’s dedicated FOI/SAR officer, you will be able to liaise with staff at all levels of the council to obtain information, but also provide excellent customer service to members of the public who make enquiries.
You will also be responsible for investigating data breaches, using your findings to make recommendations for improvement, and communicating these proposals to senior management and front line staff.
Additionally, you will work closely with the Information Governance Manager in providing information governance advice, guidance and training to staff and managers across the council.
We’re looking for someone who can make good data management a vibrant, active part of life in our council.
